The principal cause of head cracking/warping is overheating (e.g., driving the car with the temperature gauge in the red), but heads can also crack due to age, vibration, or poor design. Similarly, overheating can also cause the head gasket to fail, either spewing coolant to the outside, or causing coolant and oil to intermix, or both.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said that it will supply smoking kits for users to smoke illicit substances such as crystal methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
All players should receive pre-season physical exams, and those with a history of prior brain or spinal injuries, including concussions, should be identified.
Football players should receive adequate preconditioning and strengthening of the head and neck muscles.
Coaches and officials should discourage players from using the top of their football helmets as battering rams when blocking, hitting, tackling, and ball carrying.
Coaches, physicians, and trainers should ensure that the players' equipment is properly fitted, especially the helmet, and that straps are always locked.
Coaches must be prepared for a possible catastrophic spinal cord injury. The entire staff must know what to do in such a case. Being prepared and well informed might make all the difference in preventing permanent disability.
The rules prohibiting spearing (hitting another player with the crown of the helmet) should be enforced in practice and games.
Ball carriers should be taught not to lower their heads when making contact with the tackler to avoid helmet-to-helmet collisions.

Two weeks after I relocated to L.A. to pursue my acting dreams she went into a comatic state that lasted for 15 years mainly due to her crack use. My grandmother took care of her in the home until my mother died.
A cracked cylinder head often exhibits the same symptoms as a blown head gasket. So, whenever you (or your mechanic) are doing a head gasket job, the heads should be checked for cracks by a machine shop prior to reinstallation. Machine shops have special tools and equipment that can detect cylinder head cracks that are not visible to the naked eye.
An engine needs three ingredients for complete combustion: proper spark, the correct air/fuel ratio, and adequate compression. A cracked cylinder head can result in a loss of compression that causes the engine to run rough and misfire.
A cracked cylinder head can allow combustion gases to enter the cooling system. As a result, you may notice an excessive amount of bubbles in the coolant before it begins to boil. You may also notice that the cooling system is under extreme pressure.
A cracked cylinder head can trigger the check engine light, low coolant level light, and the engine over-temperature light. If your car is equipped with a temperature gauge, you may also see it begin to climb.
In some cases, a cracked cylinder head can result in coolant-oil intermix. Select Saturn models with the 1.9L single overhead camshaft engine are well-known for winding up with cracked cylinder heads that cause coolant-oil intermix.
Some cylinder heads, such as those found on the Saturn engines mentioned above, can develop cracks due to design flaws. But the problem usually stems from engine overheating. When the engine gets too hot, the cylinder head cracks as a result of thermal stress. Allowing your engine to overheat even once can result in a cracked cylinder head.
Repairing cracked cylinder heads is generally a thing of the past. Nowadays, since most modern heads are made from aluminum, nearly all shops will replace a cracked head rather than trying to repair it.
Dennis and Dee quit their jobs to pursue their dreams, but when Mac reminds them that unemployment runs out eventually, Dennis and Dee get hooked on crack cocaine so they can apply for welfare. Meanwhile, Frank hires two new workers under the "Work for Welfare" program and Charlie and Mac go on a spending spree with the money in Frank's secret bank account.
Frank has become increasingly bossy as the new owner of Paddy's Pub. So bossy, in fact, that Dennis and Dee decide to quit their bar tending jobs so they can pursue their life dreams. They find out that they can make more money while from Unemployment Benefits than they did at the bar, so they take some time off. Mac reminds them that unemployment only lasts for a short while, so Dennis and Dee apply for welfare. When the caseworker asks to see their blood work to prove that Dennis is addicted to crack, the siblings decide to buy crack so they can expedite their blood work. After smoking crack, they get addicted and miss their appointment to have their blood tested.
Angered by Frank trying to be their friend after hiring the 'slaves', Mac and Charlie steal money out of Frank's secret bank account in Charlie's name. They throw an extravagant party with hookers, but when Frank places a hold on the account, they must run away from the hookers. In the alley behind Paddy's, the entire gang runs into each other. Frank gives his children Charlie's old job and promotes Charlie to manager. When the others ask why they haven't been rewarded, Frank says its because Mac is just a "follower" and Dennis and Dee are "crackheads."
Lead-based paint is still present in millions of homes, normally under layers of newer paint. If the paint is in good shape, the lead-based paint is usually not a problem. Deteriorating lead-based paint (peeling, chipping, chalking, cracking, damaged, or damp) is a hazard and needs immediate attention.

Have your eyes checked every year or two. You may never know about bad side vision or bad distance judgment unless your eyes are checked. Hearing is more important to driving than many people realize. Your hearing can warn you of danger - the sound of horns, a siren, screeching tires. Some times you can hear a vehicle that you cannot see in your blind spots. Hearing problems, like bad eyesight, can come on so slowly that you do not notice them. Drivers who know they have hearing problems can adjust. They can learn to rely more on their seeing habits. Even people with good hearing cannot hear well if the radio is blaring. Keep the radio turned down and do not wear headsets while driving.
Most of us believe we can control when we fall asleep. But the reality is, sleep is not voluntary. You can't shake it off with caffeine. You can't stave it off with loud music. And you can't hold it off simply by cracking the window for fresh air. Fact is, if you're drowsy at the wheel, you can fall asleep and never even know it; called "micro-sleeps," these brief naps last only four to five seconds. And when you're cruising along at 55 miles an hour, the tiniest nap can be fatal.
If steam is rising from the hood, or your temperature gauge has reached the danger zone, pull over and turn off the ignition. Once the engine has cooled, check the coolant level. If coolant is low, add more. Do not add water, cool liquid can cause the engine block to crack. If the radiator does not hold coolant, look for leaks in the radiator or breaks in the hoses. Attempt to temporarily repair such problems and then go to the nearest service station immediately. If you cannot make temporary repairs, or the temperature gauge remains in the danger zone, do not drive the vehicle. This could result in expensive or irreversible engine damage.
