Start Menu 8 Key [PORTABLE]: Enhance Your Productivity with Keyboard Shortcuts

mhug86

A familiar interface: The Start button and menu has been a mainstay of Windows since Windows '95. In Windows 8, Microsoft decided to do something new, but the truth is that it is hard to adjust to something new after so long. Start Menu 8 resurrects that old interface to make navigation familiar again.

Customized menu: When you walk through the setup process with Windows 8, you can select exactly what you want to have included in the menu. This lets you keep it basic and only include your most commonly used items, or comprehensive so you can navigate through your entire system from the menu. A great addition is the ability to incorporate a menu for your Windows 8 Metro apps.

Time to set up: The only real drawback is that it took a fair bit of time to set up exactly the way that we wanted it. A few presets or similar quick-start options might have minimized the time it took to get going.

This program takes only a few minutes until you're returned to a more familiar interface. You can customize the menu exactly as you want, so you can either have a menu just like the one in Windows 7, or you can create your own customized option.

Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system introduced an updated Start menu known as the "Start screen", which uses a full-screen design consisting of tiles to represent applications. This replaced the Windows desktop as the primary interface of the operating system. Additionally, the on-screen Start button was replaced by a hidden button in the corner of the screen; Microsoft explained that the Start button was removed because few people used it, noting the addition of "pinning" apps to the taskbar from Windows 7.[1][2]

The change was controversial among users, and a market ensued for applications which restore the visible Start button, emulate the previous Start menu design, or allow users to boot directly to the Desktop instead of the Start screen.[3]

In theory, this is all very configurable. You're able to choose your preferred Start button, menu style (standard or Start Screen-like "Modern"), the menus to be displayed, power actions, hotkeys and more.

Start Menu X is a replacement of the system menu for professionals. Compatible with Windows 11Power users know how inconvenient and time-consuming it is to launch programs from the system menu.We have created a solution for you!Virtual GroupsGroup programs by purpose (office applications, graphics, etc) without changing their location on the hard drive.

This is our own one-of-a-kind feature. Start Menu X replaces the yellow folder icons with application icons. Clicking on the folder launches the application. To access a submenu, hover the cursor over a folder for a few seconds. For the first launch, the application launched is determined automatically. Subsequently, the application that you most recently launched becomes the folder's "default application".

Unfortunately, in Windows 11, links to folders were removed from the system menu. You are only given a list of applications, so even getting to the control panel from the menu has become very difficult.

It's a good thing you have Start Menu X! With our program you can configure a customized list of folders. A broad selection of 25 system folders and the ability to add your own folders or applications are what you need to tailor the menu to your individual needs.

The Windows 11 system menu and other applications that thoughtlessly copied the Windows 7 menu force you to use a small window to select applications. Consequently, you have to constantly scroll through this list and make lots of superfluous mouse movements.

Without any additional applications or effort, directly from the menu you can set a timer to shut down or sleep your computer with a delay. This feature is helpful for folks who love to leave the computer on at night to work on resource-intensive tasks and those who just love to listen to music while they're out and about.

In the initial release of Windows 8, the Start button was replaced by the Start Screen. Later versions of Windows 8, more commonly called Windows 8.1, have a Start that opens the Start Screen instead of the Start menu. 2ff7e9595c
